Biography: Crissie Elrick Bath is a seasoned communications professional with nearly 11 years of experience at Georgia Southern's Office of University Communications and Marketing (UCM) where she currently serves as a Communications Manager. During her time with UCM, she has managed various aspects of communication, including social media platforms, strategy development and content creation. Her responsibilities extend to writing press releases and feature stories to convey the university's message. One of Crissie's key roles involves overseeing the curation and creation of a weekly internal news publication distributed to more than 3,000 faculty and staff members, ensuring timely and relevant updates reach the university community. Before joining Georgia Southern, Crissie worked as a newspaper reporter for more than two years. During that time, she gained firsthand experience in uncovering and sharing compelling narratives by reporting on city and county government, crime, education and community news. Crissie holds a bachelor's degree in English with a journalism concentration from Valdosta State University and an associate's degree in agricultural communications from ABAC. Outside of work, Crissie finds joy in spending quality time with her husband, family, friends and Labrador retriever named Abby.
