Get ready to crack the case-and discover the science that brings truth to light!

Session 1: CSI Forensics - The Crime Scene Investigator

Step into the shoes of a first responder at a simulated crime scene. Learn how to secure the area, preserve evidence, and document every clue like a professional investigator. You'll gain hands-on experience in identifying and collecting fingerprints, footprints, fibers, and blood spatter patterns, while learning the science behind how each piece of evidence tells its story.
Students will also master the fundamentals of forensic photography and chain of custody protocols, ensuring that evidence remains uncontaminated and admissible in court. By the end of the week, you'll have the skills to reconstruct the events of a crime from the clues left behind.

Session 2: Lab Forensics - The Science Behind the Evidence

Take your investigation to the next level as you enter the forensic lab! This week focuses on the scientific techniques used to analyze evidence collected from the field. You'll perform hands-on experiments in DNA analysis, toxicology, and trace evidence testing, using real-world tools and methods employed by forensic scientists. Explore how chemical analysis helps identify poisons, illicit drugs, and explosives, and how biological samples like hair, fluids, and fabrics are used to match suspects and victims. Learn about DNA fingerprinting, kinship analysis, and how forensic genetics can even solve crimes decades later. This is where science meets justice.

Session  3: Police Forensics - The Investigation in Action

Work through mock investigations and realistic case studies to understand how forensic evidence shapes police work. Learn the art of interviewing witnesses and suspects, build psychological profiles, and explore the digitalside of forensics, including recovering deleted data and analyzing cyberevidence.
You'll also examine the ethical and legal dimensions of forensics, understanding the balance between science, justice, and personal rights. The session culminates in a collaborative team challenge, where students act as detectives, lab analysts, and legal experts to bring their case to trial.
