Course Detail: SAV-1000 - Sustainability Operations in Airports
Overview
Aviation is a sector that has made significant changes in implementing sustainability approaches. The aviation industry will continue to include sustainability practices in its operations, following the three pillars - Environment, Society and Economy. Airports are complex systems vital for the aviation industry and its activities. This course identifies the role of sustainability in airport operations.

This course is intended to add actionable value for airport managers, aviation leaders, policymakers, and professionals in the field of air transportation and sustainability.
Course Benefits
This course addresses standards to reduce airports' environmental footprint, including net zero emissions schemes, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources plans, noise performance evaluation and waste and water management, among others. Hence, airport professionals must learn how to apply sustainable practices in everyday operations and working tasks. Sustainability must be holistically applied in any organizational environment. This course will support airport professional experts in learning what sustainability means for airport operations, how to apply it, and the benefits of sustainability in airport operations.

Course Delivery
The course is delivered in a blended modality that uses EagleVision and Canvas to deliver the curriculum in a virtual classroom, providing a campus learning experience from anywhere.
- EagleVision: A technology that combines web video conferencing with a virtual learning environment to enhance real-time collaboration, allowing you to communicate directly and instantly with professors and classmates during scheduled meetings.
- Canvas: An educational platform designed with the online teaching and learning experience in mind, is a cloud-based system that is viewable on any web browser, computer, or mobile device and allows for engagement and collaboration through video, audio, integrated media recorder, text, and discussion boards at whatever time you chose.
This course is delivered over four weeks, with EagleVision sessions on Saturdays from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Singapore time (UTC +8) and online Canvas activities taking place throughout all four weeks. The dates and times of the next session are shown below in the Session Information section.
