About the Program

The Certificate of Management in Aviation Safety (CMAS) is a highly intensive certificate program which combines the latest safety topics in a professional and dynamic classroom environment on the Daytona Beach Campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The certificate requires completion of three 5-day courses in OSHA & Aviation Ground Safety, Aviation Safety Program Management & Aircraft Accident Investigation and Management. The courses can be completed individually or toward the certificate program. Courses can be completed in any order to accomplish the Certificate. 

Course curriculum and elements of the Certificate of Management in Aviation Safety may be applicable to meet the training requirements for eligible candidates to apply for the ICAP Federal Aviation Safety Officer Certificate (ASO). The ASO program is sponsored by the Safety Standards and Training Subcommittee of the Interagency Committee for Aviation Policy (ICAP) 

Course Pricing & Discount Information: 

The CMAS course fee structure per course is $2,300 (Early Bird Fee) and $2,500 (Standard Fee). The cost for courses offered after 01-JHUL-2024 will be $2,400 (Early Bird), and $2,600 (Standard Fee). The course fee includes all course materials. 

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Embry-Riddle awards Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to each attendee who successfully completes each of the courses in the Certificate of Management in Aviation Safety.

These courses are tailored for industry professionals involved in the management, supervision and operations of aviation organizations. All courses in the Certificate of Management in Aviation Safety are offered in a face-to-face traditional classroom setting with subject matter experts from within the aviation industry. Offering these courses in person allows for real classroom discussion, interaction with professors, and endless networking opportunities with other industry professionals attending the course. In the past five years, we have welcomed over 450 aviation professionals originating from over 100 countries to our short-course series on the Daytona Beach Campus.
