The OSHA & Aviation Ground Safety course, developed by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, equips you with the skills to prevent incidents, reduce safety failure-related costs, and design safety programs that safeguard lives and protect valuable assets. By mastering these essential practices, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering a safer and more compliant aviation environment. 

This comprehensive program will not only deepen your understanding of OSHA's General Industry safety and health standards but also empower you to effectively manage aviation ground safety. By focusing on incident prevention and the significant costs associated with avoidable safety failures, you'll learn to design and implement robust safety programs that safeguard lives and protect assets.

You will delve into current OSHA violations and aviation-specific issues, master the creation of effective ground safety programs, and engage in practical discussions based on real-world experiences. 

By completing this course and satisfying the required OSHA standards, you will be eligible for the OSHA 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health Training Card, enhancing your credentials and capabilities in aviation safety management. 

This course can be taken independently, or toward the Certificate of Management in Aviation Safety.

You will master a comprehensive understanding of risk management and achieve expertise in: 
  • Navigating General Industry OSHA (CFR1910) standards and addressing compliance issues relevant to airlines, FBOs and aviation maintenance.
  • Designing and implementing effective Ground Safety Programs with clear goals and objectives.
  • Applying key programs for Ground Safety Managers, including emergency action plans, ramp operations, and maintenance procedures.
  • Conducting thorough audits and managing inspections, citations, and record-keeping. 
  • Ensuring industrial hygiene and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Implementing hazard communication and emergency response strategies.
  • Recognizing and addressing the Top 10 OSHA violations in aviation settings.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation charge of $150 will be assessed on any standard cancellations. A late cancellation charge of 25% of the course registration fee will be assessed on cancellations occurring within 14 days of the start of the course.
