Course Description: ART 265: Photography Digital Basics

This course introduces the photographic process including camera settings and techniques with an emphasis on creative expressions. Emphasizes exposure, depth-of-field, motion, composition, and image quality using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. Although assignments, tests, and quizzes are optional for Community Education students, you will be expected to fully participate. A textbook may be required for this course. Please check with the COCC Bookstore. This is a non-credit Community Education class. You will not receive college credit.

Additional Course Information

Required Materials: Digital Single Lens Reflex or Mirrorless camera with manual focus lens and exposure capabilities is required. Please see the syllabus for a detailed list of other specific materials used in this course. This is a hybrid course. These courses use different tools like Zoom or Canvas (COCC's online learning management system) for instruction. Students may also attend class at certain times, either in person or from home.

Cancellation Policy

Students must cancel by contacting our office via phone: (541) 383-7270 or email: ceinfo@cocc.edu. Cancellations received 5 days prior to the start of the class will receive a full refund. Full refunds are also issued for classes cancelled by COCC. Refunds will be issued back to your card or in the form of a check and mailed within two weeks of the cancellation date if paid by check or cash. Failure to participate in a course or program does not result in a refund. Exceptions to the general refund policy are noted in the course descriptions on our website and in the printed schedule.
