Course Detail: W-HC-CNAWRITTEN - Certified Nursing Assistant - Written Test
Certified Nursing Assistant Written Testing occurs after passing the skills testing and should be completed within twelve (12) months from the completion date of the CNA course.
Students completing Certified Nursing Assistant coursework at The College of Eastern Idaho have the first attempt for CNA Written Testing included with tuition. Any additional attempts for successful completion of the State of Idaho mandatory CNA written test will be charged to the student at the CEI Testing Center.
Charge for written exam: $21 proctoring fee due at the time of registration and a $29 Prometric fee paid at the testing center.
Please note: On the Prometric testing application provided at the CEI Testing Center, enter the date you became eligible to take the skills exam as your course completion date - not necessarily your last day of class. Verify this date with your instructor prior to arriving at the CEI Testing Center. This will help avoid delays in processing your application.

Individuals looking for State of Idaho reciprocity for an existing Certified Nursing Assistant qualification from another state or seeking to renew a lapsed Certified Nursing Assistant qualification MUST reach out to the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare to receive approval to take Skills and Written examinations to be placed on Idaho's Nurse Aide Registry.

Step 1: Complete the Renewal & Reciprocity forms located on the Idaho Nurse Aide Registry website at:
Step 2: Create an account here in the registration system for CEI.
Step 3: Email a copy of the approval letter to healthcareed@cei.edu
Step 4: Call 208-535-5345 to schedule the CNA Skills Testing and make payment.
Step 5: Upon successful completion of the CNA Skills Testing and payment has been collected, the CEI Testing Center will be notified of the student's eligibility to take the CNA Written Test
