Course Detail: W-IND-MANU-ADVCNC - CNC - Advanced

This 5 week-long Advanced CNC course delves into the intricacies of CNC operations, including both Mill and Lathe, with a focus on 5th Axis CNC machining. Students will build upon their foundational knowledge to master complex CNC techniques, programming, and troubleshooting. 

Learning Outcomes - 

At the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

  1. Develop and execute advanced CNC programs. 
  2. Optimize toolpaths for efficiency and precision. 
  3. Implement complex machining strategies. 
  4. Conduct precision measurements and ensure quality control. 
  5. Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines. 

 

Certification  

Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion from the College of Eastern Idaho Workforce Training.

  • Employees/Learners with prior machining or CNC experience who want to increase technical complexity, precision, and career opportunities in manufacturing 
  • Organizations in which employees fail to attain prescribed machining, performance, and quality standards within the shop setting 
  • Individuals pursuing the development of fundamental CNC machining skills, with the objective of attaining competency and confidence in operating CNC mills and lathes.

Requirements - 

PPE Required 

  • Safety Glasses - We will not let you operate machines in the shop if you do not have safety glasses. 
  • Closed-Toe Shoes - Work boots are preferred.  
  • Long Pants and shirts without loose or baggy sleeves. 
  • Hair tied back, if applicable 
  • Absolutely no jewelry or baggy clothes are allowed.
