This course includes an overview of the types of apparatus equipped with fire pumps, apparatus safety, positioning, basic operations, and the abilities to satisfy the key requirements of NFPA 1002: Standard for Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications (2017 edition). This course should be offered consistent with the most current NC Fire and Rescue Commission guidelines; contact the Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) for details.
