In this one-day workshop, students will create two book structures that demonstrate various bookbinding skills - folding, gluing, cutting, and sewing. The first, the Starburst book, is a hardcover book with folded pages that pop out into a starburst shape when opened. Secondly, students would create a softcover Buttonhole Stitch book in which a window cut-out along the spine exposes the folded signatures. This book highlights the exposed sewing along the spine.
