T&L 2900: VIR: Strategies for Bilingual Education that Empower All Learners

U.S. The Department of Education launched the "Being Bilingual is a Superpower" Initiative to promote multilingual education and encourage the implementation of high-quality language programs across the country. Many schools have implemented dual-language education models where students receive a percentage of their instruction, practice, and assessment in two different languages. In this engaging course, participants will learn about the guiding principles for effective and ethical bilingual education. They will assess their current circumstances and practices to establish attainable goals that will improve the dual-language teaching and learning experience. Participants will explore strategies and digital tools that support each principle. This course is designed for educators currently teaching in bilingual classrooms.
