This course covers major types of traumatic deaths in forensic pathology, relating these to death investigation.

The increasing ethnicity base in the United States encompasses both traditional groups of diversity, religious based groups and also increasing numbers of newer immigrants and their diversity issues. Lessons for cultural competency for a wide variety of ethnic, racial and religious groups will increase basic cultural competency and diversity appreciation in death investigations.

This course will focus on Mental Health Issues for Death Investigators. The training will enable you to recognize and appropriately respond to mental health problems and crises that you are likely to encounter during the course of your work. Being trained in this area enables you to aid those in need and ultimately direct them to the appropriate mental health care treatment they require.

This course will provide an introduction to common terminology and pathophysiology of medical conditions to allow first responders and investigators at death scenes to assess potential medical contributions or complications leading to or contributing to the death.
