T&L 2900: Jennifer Abrams' Professional Development Series 2025-26
This course is offered to Instructional Coaches, Administrators, Mentor Teachers and Educators who requested to participate in the session. The course is provided exclusively through the ND RISE State Mentoring Program. The activities are in supplement and developed to enrich the Mentoring, Leadership, and/or Coaching experience.
Learning Objectives/Participant Outcomes
Participants will connect and collaborate with other teachers using a virtual format focusing on the ways we can develop ourselves to be even more effective educators and collaborative team members. The six-part series will be facilitated by Jennifer Abrams and discuss her books "Stretching Your Learning Edges", "Swimming in the Deep End", and "Having Hard Conversations".
Concepts addressed in this course will be
- Introduction to adult learning theory and how it connects to creating a professional learning culture
- Discuss various concepts to help identify individuals' learning edges
- Interact with guiding questions, continuums, self-assessments, and exercises
- Engagement with a community of learners to want to grow (up)
- Consideration of next steps for yourself as you move this new learning into practice
