Instructor:	Michael Hamm Michael Hamm Michael Hamm Biography: Mr. Hamm has been involved in asbestos abatement training since 1987. He has conducted courses for both workers and supervisors. His professional background is in the field of industrial hygiene. From February 1982 to December 1986 he was employed as a health consultant for the Safe State Program at The University of Alabama. then he went to the U.S.Tennessee Valley Authority, where he primarily conducted health and safety training from December 1986 to September 1996. Currently, he is an independent contractor.Mr. Hamm holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene from the University of North Alabama. He holds a Master of Science in Public Health degree from theUniversity of North Carolina.

Alabama Lead-based Paint Accreditation Program The Alabama Department of Public Health requires all individuals who engage in lead-based paint inspection, risk assessment, abatement and renovation activities to be accredited by Safe State Environmental Programs. In addition, training programs who want to offer training courses for lead-based paint disciplines must alsobe accredited by Safe State Environmental Programs. This section is primarily for individuals and trainers associatedwith the identification and abatement of Lead-based Paint. As of November 16, 2010 there are new regulations related tolead-based paint encountered during renovation, repair and painting work. These regulations have added Renovators as a new discipline.
