Biography: Dr. Bob McKinney is Associate Professor of Behavioral Medicine at the University of Alabama College of Community Health Sciences (CCHS), where he is jointly appointed to the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine and the Department of Family, Internal, and Rural Medicine. He is the director of the Department of Social Services at University Medical Center, which has offices in Tuscaloosa, Northport, Carrollton, Fayette, Demopolis, and Livingston. He is appointed by Governor Ivey to the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners as the representative of the Seventh Congressional District. He is also a registered yoga therapist.At CCHS, Dr. Bob maintains an active patient panel of his own, supervises social work field students from a variety of training programs, and teaches learners from medicine, pharmacy, psychology, social work, and law about the social determinants of health. He also teaches about supervision, ethics, alternative interventions, and trauma in the University of Alabama's School of Social Work.Bob, his wife Brandi, and their two children are ethical vegetarians, food adventurists, and avid travelers.
