Biography: Mr. Weems joined Safe State in July, 1989 as an Industrial Hygienist. He earned the board certification in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene in July, 1994. He also became a board certified Hazard Material Manager in December, 1993. Mr. Weems has extensive experience in evaluating workplace hazards and prescribing controls in a variety of industries and serves as an instructor for numerous training courses. He has a master's in Public Health from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and is currently a Senior Health Consultant for the Department of Environmental and Industrial Programs, Safe State Division. Prior to joining Safe State, Mr. Weems was the Safety Administrator of Southern Research Institute, Birmingham, Alabama. He is a veteran of 12 years in the United States Army and is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the Alabama Army National Guard.
