The Alabama Municipal Revenue Officers Certification Program (CMRO) is to improve the professional, administrative, and fiscal skills of participating municipal revenue officers through a series of courses approved by the Municipal Revenue Officers Association. Because of the increasing complexity of municipal revenue administration, this certification program is designed to help municipal revenueofficers develop their management skills and abilities and obtain more expertiseand status in their profession as they serve their communities.

Budgeting is an accounting course. The objective is to familiarize the participant with key areas of governmental budgeting and finance. Specifically, the course will focus on the appropriation and management of public funds, including the importance and background of budgets, the budgetary cycle, revenue projections, types of expenditures, and the execution of a budget.

The Fund Accounting course objective is to familiarize the participant with the process of recording financial information that groups resources into funds based on their source and any limitations on use.

General Ledger is an accounting course. The objective is to familiarize the candidate with the study of ledgers in which all the assets, liabilities, equity, revenue, and expenses are posted, and from which financial statements are prepared.

Purchasing/Accounts Payable is an accounting course. The objective is to familiarize the participant with accounts and techniques used to record andgenerate payment to specific companies or individuals for products or services that have been purchased on credit by your entity. Accounts payables are usually items that will be paid for in less than one year.

This online certificate program prepares you to audit and improve electrical safety programs, which is based on the annually required audit per the 2012edition of NFPA 70E and OSHA Standards.

The Qualified Electrical Worker Certificate Program helps the employer meet the NFPA and OSHA requirements that workers be qualified. This series assures both employee and the employer that proper attention and training have been given to the employee concerning potential electric shock, fire and arc flash hazards.
