Biography: Joanne Terrell, MSW, LCSW, PIP, is an Instructor in the School of Social Work at The University of Alabama where she teaches Mental Health and Social Work practice courses as well as Couples and Family Therapy. Ms. Terrell has thirty years experience as an individual and family therapist. She currently maintains a private practice where her focus of treatment is with family and couples. She provides clinical supervision to mental health professionals in the areas of mental health treatment with individuals, couples and families.

Forensic Practice and the Family Court System

The third workshop will describe therapeutic divorce mediation, including issues such as parental alienation, emotional abuse, and more. In addition, juvenile sex offender risk assessment models and therapeutic interventions will be described.

Supervision and Ethics for Clinical and Non-Clinical Social Work Services

The ethics portion of this workshop will review the growing use of technology in social work practice.

Forensic Practice and the Criminal and Civil Justice Systems

The workshop will discuss an overview of forensic practice. Biopsychosocial assessments and their use in both the criminal and civil justice system will also be described.
