Course Detail: BEMLIL - Boosting Employee Morale in the Workplace/Living the Integrated Life
At the heart of modern leadership concepts and practices is the requirement to focus on a holistic view of the workforce, its challenges and opportunities, and the value they can bring to the success of the organizational mission. Boosting morale among employees requires an approach of not just "feel good" activities alone. Prompting meaningful morale improvements requires connections and synergies between one's individual outlook, attitudes toward work, the reality of current events and the attainment of goals in job fulfillment. This session takes a close look at the basis of morale in individuals, the impact of finding meaning and purpose at work, attitude, optimism, and actions that can be instituted in work settings. In this two-hour session participants examine the common traits of attitude and optimism and the transfer of such aspects toward the energies of goal setting and attainment in their jobs. Specific steps are outlined for application in working with supervisors, peers, subordinates, and other stakeholders. A "successful" life has been defined by some to be one where "balance" is achieved between life and work. Is living a "balanced" life a myth? This session will share a new way of seeing the demands on our lives - at home, at work, and at play - and will give three fundamental concepts that can help anyone experience greater success in business and in life.Participants will contribute to their learning in this session through completing an Integrated Life Map, group interaction, intellectual stimulation, and practical application. This is a custom workshop for the leaders at RCCTO at Redstone Arsenal.
