Course Detail: 160FINALCIVIL - 160 Grant, Lee, and the Final Year of the Civil War: A Nation Forged in Fire

This course will review the final crucible of the Civil War, the last and most relentless and violent year from the spring of 1864 until the surrender at Appomattox. Some of the many reasons for the Civil War are overlooked in our time. We will look at Grant and Lee, two very different men who each defined and embodied the America he came from. We'll look at their strengths and weaknesses, and how they came to define the America of their time and set us on the path to our time.
