CAC0122 - Chiropractic Acupuncture Certificate #1 of 4: Introduction to Acupuncture, Clean Needle Technique, Meridians 1, and Acupuncture Theory 1

This is the first session of four required sessions you need  to earn your 100 hour chiropractic acupuncture certificate. You will learn an introduction to acupuncture, clean needling technique, meridians 1 and acupuncture theory 1.

Friday(4 X 50 minutes = 200 minutes (4 CE Hours)

·        4:00-5:40PM: Guidelines and standards for clean andsafe clinical practice of acupuncture aka Clean needle technique (CNT) lecturewith an emphasis on safety, hygiene, proper needle sterilization and disposalof bio-hazardous waste. (100 minutes = 2 CE hours)

·        5:40 - 6:20PM: Break

·        6:20-8:00 PM: Demonstration and review of Clean NeedleTechnique and practical examination of clean needle technique procedure. (100minutes = 2 CE hours)

Saturday (12 x 50 Minutes = 600 minutes (12 CE Hours)

·        8:00-8:30AM:  Written examination for Clean Needletechnique administration and review (30 mins)

·        8:30-9:40AM: An overview of Chinese Medicine and philosophy, with an emphasis on theorigin and basic tenets of acupuncture associated with treating human ailments.(70 minutes = 2 CE hours)

·        9:40 -10:00 AM - Break

·        10:00-11:40AM:  Five Element Theory, Yin/Yang, Qi,Shen and Ko Cycles, Horary Cycle, Laws of Excess and Deficiency (100 minutes =2 CE Hours)

·        11:40 AM -12:40PM:  Lunch

·        12:40-2:20PM:  Pulse Diagnosis, Back Shu (Associated)Points, Mu (Alarm) points. (100 minutes = 2 CE Hours)

·        2:20 -2:40 PM - Break

·        2:40-6:00PM: Twelve main meridians are described withemphasis on CV, GV, LU, LI.  Discussionof meridian pathways (superficial and deep), location of their acu-points andclinical applications. Extensive supervised laboratory practicum, which willprovide attendees with hands-on time to practice point location and properneedle insertion techniques. (200 minutes = 4 CE Hours)

·        6:00 -6:20 PM - Break

·        6:20-8:00PM:  Twelve main meridians are described withemphasis on CV, GV, LU, LI.  Discussionof meridian pathways (superficial and deep), location of their acu-points andclinical applications. Extensive supervised laboratory practicum, which willprovide attendees with hands-on time to practice point location and properneedle insertion techniques. (100 minutes = 2 CE Hours)

Sunday (9 x 50 = 450 minutes (9 CE Hours)

·        8:00-9:40AM:12 main meridians are described with emphasis on ST, SP, HT, SI, BL (100 mins =2 CE Hours)

·        9:40 -10:00 AM - Break

·        10:00-11:40AM:  Discussion of meridian pathways(superficial and deep), location of their acu-points and clinical applications.(100 minutes = 2 CE Hours)

·        11:40AM -12:40PM:  Lunch

·        12:40-3:10PM:  Continue Discussion of meridian pathways(superficial and deep), location of their acu-points and clinical applications.(150 minutes = 3 CE Hours)

·        3:10 -4:00PM - Break

·        4:00-5:40PM:Extensive supervised laboratory practicum, which will provide attendees withhands-on time to practice point location and proper needle insertion techniques(100 minutes = 2 CE Hours)
