Christine Wilson
Biography: HI!I am so excited to serve as your cycling instructor for this upcoming MetroFIT session. My name is Christine Wilson; I have been cycling since 2005. I completed my first 100-mile ride in 2008. I have logged thousands of miles riding around Lake Hefner. Lake Draper, The Oklahoma City River Trails, Tulsa Roads, and Texas Roads. I am a rider leader for Major Taylor Cycling Club. You may ask what does that mean? I ensure our ride group understands the rules and expectations for the group ride, and ensures the route and pace are appropriate for the participants involved. Cheer you on as you accomplish the goals set for the ride. I also make sure no rider is left behind. I am currently a member of the Major Taylor Cycling Club of Oklahoma City. We are a cycling club that meets you where you are on your cycling journey. We are passionate about bringing new people to the sport of cycling. We believe if one is properly educated and given positive instruction, they will undoubtedly fall in love with this sport. Our name's sake Marshall Major Taylor was the first Black World Cycling Champion. In 1899 he won the 1- mile sprint event, 1900 Marshall Major Taylor became the American Sprint champion. We ride in pride and service to the legacy or Marshall Major Taylor. It is our hope that you too will see yourself as a champion.
