Biography: Michelle (Chelle) Young and Alicia Jackson first met at a dance class in 2017 in Oklahoma City. Their shared passion for dance quickly sparked a friendship, leading them on an incredible journey to deepen their understanding of the dance and its history. Determined to refine their skills and broaden their knowledge, they began traveling across cities and states, attending workshops, private lessons, and social dance events outside of Oklahoma City. Through these experiences, they earned the nickname "The Traveling Divas."With nearly 20 years of combined dance experience, Chelle and Alicia have trained extensively in both the lead and follow roles, equipping them to teach men and women the art of DFW Swingout at all levels. Their expertise extends beyond instruction, they have also competed in various dance competitions, further solidifying their ability to teach and share this dynamic style with others.Their passion for DFW Swingout is evident in their teaching, as well as in the videos they share online. They have had the privilege of learning from three of the Originators of this dance style, pioneers who began teaching in the 1970s and introduced structured classes in the 1980s.Now, they are thrilled to bring DFW Swingout to Metro Tech! Their goal is not only to teach the dance but also to foster an environment where students can grow, connect, and most importantly, have fun. Chelle and Alicia look forward to sharing their love of dance and building a strong, vibrant dance community.
