The Future of AI in K-12 Education: JCPS's Generative AI Task Force

We're excited to announce that Eric Satterly, Chief Information Officer of Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), will be our featured speaker at the next AI Forum. Under Eric's leadership, JCPS has taken bold steps in thoughtfully integrating generative AI tools - including a district-wide adoption of Google's AI technologies - to support its mission.

As many school districts across Kentucky and the nation begin to explore AI's potential in education, JCPS is already moving beyond early experimentation. The district's Generative AI Task Force, co-led by Eric, is focused on laying the groundwork for classroom use that supports ethical, responsible, and a human-centered approach.

In this session, Eric will go beyond the hype to share practical insights and classroom use cases that demonstrate how generative AI can support:
  • Personalized learning experiences tailored to individual student needs
  • Administrative efficiencies that free educators to focus on instruction
With statewide efforts underway to embed AI into K-12 curriculum and policy - from guidance on responsible use to pilot programs and teacher development - this conversation will offer a timely, real-world perspective on how one large district is preparing for the future.

Whether you are an AI enthusiast, educator, administrator, or a cautious observer, join us for an inside look at how JCPS is navigating opportunities and challenges in AI adoption - and what it means for the future of K-12 education.
