OVERVIEW
Lean principles, originally rooted in manufacturing, have a profound impact when adapted to the complexities of healthcare. Unlike the predictability of an assembly line, healthcare involves significant variability due to differences in patients and procedures. This makes the implementation of Lean processes even more critical. By effectively controlling what can be controlled, Lean helps mitigate the uncertainties inherent in healthcare.
This 4.5-day intensive course provides a comprehensive introduction to Lean principles and tools, specifically tailored for the healthcare setting. Participants will learn how to apply these techniques to streamline operations, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance patient care. A key feature of the course is an interactive patient care simulation, where learners will practice these skills in a controlled environment. This hands-on experience will demonstrate how reducing chaos and eliminating wasted time can significantly increase the time available for direct patient care, ultimately leading to improved outcomes and greater organizational efficiency.
AUDIENCE
This course is designed for healthcare leaders who are eager to explore the transformative potential of Lean principles within their organizations. Participants will gain the knowledge and vocabulary necessary to initiate meaningful discussions about process improvement and the strategic advantages of Lean and the Theory of Constraints. By the end of the course, healthcare leaders will be equipped with the foundational skills to lead Lean transformations, driving substantial improvements in efficiency and patient satisfaction within their departments and across their organizations.FACULTY
