Course: Using Emotional Intelligence to Lead in a Crisis

During a crisis, people behave differently. Many are tense and stressed out, and it shows in their interactions with those around them. Some are fearful of both what is happening today and what tomorrow will look like, while others are grieving actual or perceived losses. So what is a leader to do in these situations? Leaders are expected to understand the emotions being felt and displayed, and to take these emotions into consideration as they move their organizations ahead. This session will talk about how Emotional Intelligence can help leaders in this situation - we will explore what Emotional Intelligence is, and how it an be leveraged when leading during a crisis. We will also explore how you can work to develop your emotional intelligence as a leader.
