Information

"Salsa As You're Able - Come As You Are, Move As You Can" In this engaging and informative cultural experience, Julio Barrenzuela - The Salsa Ambassador - introduces participants to the shared musical heartbeat behind Latin America's most popular social dances: salsa, merengue, and bachata. Rather than focusing on folkloric styles, the presentation explores the modern, cosmopolitan Latin music that unites twenty-one Spanish-speaking countries. Through story, rhythm and light interactive elements, participants discover the simple beat - 1-2-3, 5-6-7 - that helps them feel at ease and able to join any Latin celebration. During the session, you will: Hear how salsa, merengue, and bachata function as shared musical common ground, understand why these genres transcend borders and traditions, learn to feel and identify the 1-2-3, 5-6-7 beat in an accessible way, explore light cultural trivia using table flags, walk away with a real, usable tool for joining any Latin celebration.
