Course: Beekeeping Bootcamp

This course covers the importance of honey bees and its biology, beekeeping basics from creating a hive to harvesting honey, and how to maintain a hive from common threats.

Specifically, the course covers understanding the honey bees' impact on pollination and food production, its anatomy, lifecycle, hierarchy and communication within a hive, essential beekeeping equipment, setting up and placing hives, installing and managing bees, dealing with factors of colony losses (insect pests, diseases, robbing behavior of other colonies, and more), collecting honey and other bee products, storing and labeling honey, what to do during winter, and resources to advance your studies in beekeeping. 

Beekeeping Bootcamp microcredential introduces you to content through modules. Content requires approximately 6 to 8 hours to complete. Learning assessment will be conducted through learning activities. To successfully complete the microcredential and earn a digital badge, you must achieve a minimum passing score of 80%.
