Course: Foundations of Emotional Well-being and Support Skills for Veterinary Students

Creating a culture of well-being among veterinary medicine students is key to individual and organizational productivity, engagement, satisfaction, and overall health. This microcredential will provide veterinary medicine students with foundational skills in facilitating conversations with individuals in a distressed state, including listening skills, empathic response, and when and how to refer individuals to mental health professionals. Students will complete readings, participate in group discussion, and receive didactic training in these foundational skills. Only students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at Kansas State University are eligible and must be pre-approved. Questions should be directed to Dr. Adryanna Drake.
