Course: Science of Literacy for K-12 Educators - Writing

Discover how to effectively integrate structured literacy and explicit writing instruction into your K-12 classroom. Gain insights into how writing integrates with literacy curricula using frameworks such as Scarborough's Reading Rope and Sedita's Writing Rope. By tailoring writing instruction and employing differentiated and scaffolded strategies, you can address the diverse needs of students, boost teaching effectiveness, and elevate student outcomes.Science of Reading for Educators - Writing is for K-12 educators, literacy coaches, and curriculum developers to enhance their instructional practices in literacy and writing. Participants will complete practical assignments, objective assessments, and a capstone project designing a comprehensive writing lesson plan. Learning content requires approximately 12 hours to complete. Learners that successfully complete the microcredential will achieve at least 80% of the point value on assignments.
