Course: Facilitation Basics for Research & Extension Professionals

This badge will present an overview of facilitation and facilitation skills placing facilitation in context with community development and community engagement work. Non-verbal, verbal, and administrative facilitation skills will be outlined and developed. Additionally, participants will learn strategies to lay the groundwork for successful facilitation such as timlining, parking lots, developing shared expectations, the art of the question, and meeting intake. An introduction to convergent and divergent tools will also be provided, and ideas for incorporating facilitation in to community engagement and development will be generated.

Facilitation Basics for Research & Extension Professionals microcredential introduces you to content through modules. Content requires approximately 16 to 24 hours to complete. Learning assessment will be conducted through learning activities. To successfully complete the microcredential and earn a digital badge, you must achieve a minimum passing score of 70%.
