Learn gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship and shooting range safety.

In order to apply for an Illinois concealed carry permit, student must successfully complete both the N.R.A. Basic Pistol Course (8 hours) and the Illinois Concealed Carry Permit Training Course (8 hours) for a total of 16 hours.

October 24, 2026 to November 7, 2026, Main Campus, T-2003 Classroom

This course combines the required classroom instruction and range live fire test to renew a current Illinois Concealed Carry permit.
