Course Detail: LLC.5229 - Beginning Beekeeping II

This is a continuation of the spring class Beginning Beekeeping I. Students will continue to learn about managing honey bees as the seasons progress from spring into summer and fall. Topics include hive management, identifying and diagnosing problems, queens and their role in the hive, honey harvesting and processing, pest control, fall and winter preparation. This is a hands-on class with live honey bees located on campus. Students will come away with the resources, knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their own apiaries. Class will meet May 17, June 14, June 28, July 19 and Aug. 9. Ages 18+
