Course Detail: LLC.4257 - Introduction to Upholstery (No Class June 19 and July 10)

Learn how to turn otherwise unusable or undesirable furniture pieces into your personal treasures. This course will demonstrate the basics on how to turn your family cast-offs, garage sale/resale finds into perfect pieces to compliment your home's décor. Learn the fundamental techniques for upholstery to transform your furniture pieces into eye catching, attractive additions to your home. Focus will also include how to measure furniture pieces to determine fabric required for project. To allow for transportation to and from class, student projects will consist of small, portable furniture such as a stool, dining chair, small ottoman or even a pillow. Techniques learned will be able to be applied to larger at-home projects. Previous experience with sewing and sewing machines is strongly recommended. Bring your furniture piece to class, along with needle-nose pliers and a tiny width (1/8") screwdriver. You will begin deconstruction of the piece during the first class. An additional supply list will be provided. Class is limited to six students. (No class June 19 and July 10.)
