Let's make some cool machines! Meet your friends online to design, create, test, and refine a variety of machines. Using the Engineering Design Process, we'll make a marble coaster, balloon-powered cars, catapults, and an eggs-treme drop.
Sanitized STEM kits will be available for curbside pick-up at The Handke Center, 1170 Main Street, Elk River, on August 14, 8am-3pm. The kits must be returned to The Handke Center on August 24, 8am-12pm. One kit/log-in per enrollment, but siblings may join the class and work together.
You will need the following basic supplies:
A parent or responsible adult
- - Paper, scissors, ruler, glue, tape, pencil, markers and other coloring materials.
- - Tablet or laptop and Internet access to join the class.
- - Workspace that can get messy. Make sure you have plenty of room!
- - Access to a sink.
is requested to be on-hand at the start of each class to help with any technical difficulties. Younger students may require more supervision. Each lesson will help develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and peer collaboration.
