Course Detail: HPRS-2000 - Pharmacology for Health Professionals

This is the second semester of the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program.This class covers the study of drug classifications, actions, therapeutic uses, adverse effects, routes of administration, and calculation of dosages. A successful completer should be able to categorize the classification of drugs; calculate drug dosages; and identify the therapeutic use, routes of administration, indications, contraindications, and adverse effects.This course includes: books, study guide, practice test, practicum and one attempt at the CCMA Exam, which will be scheduled by the instructor and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Students must purchase scrubs. Clinical times may be scheduled on weekends and weekdays.

Students must purchase scrubs and a patch. Students must enroll concurrently in MDCA 2031, HPRS 2000, and MDCA 1060.
