Course Detail: AUMT-1007 - Automotive Electrical Systems
An overview of automotive electrical systems including topics in operational theory, testing, diagnosis, and repair of, charging and starting systems, and electrical accessories. Emphasis on electrical principles, schematic diagrams, and service publications. May be taught manufacturer specific.
Course Pre-requisites
(required) Basic Automotive Service
End-of-Course Outcomes: Utilize safety procedures; define basic electrical principles; interpret wiring schematics and symbols; explain operation of batteries, starting/charging systems, and automotive circuits; use test equipment; and perform basic electrical repairs.
This course is the second semester of our Light Duty Automotive Tech program. The successful completer of the two-semester program will receive a Level 1 certificate recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
First Semester: AUMT 1012 and AUMT 1041
Second Semester: AUMT 1007 and AUMT 1045
