Course Detail: EUR-1001 - Personality Traits That Predict Behaviour in Pilots

Overview

This two-day virtual seminar will inform attendees about the new European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulation that requires operators to take aircrew psychological assessments during recruitment. Participants will be introduced to psychometric profiling tools and will learn how to effectively use them based on EASA regulations for aviation selection and training. Real-life scenarios will be discussed and evaluated by Dr. Karina Mesarosova, an ERAU adjunct faculty member. Dr. Mesarosova will also review simulator sessions with the group to see if likelihood of behavior was aligned with the actual behavior in "close-to-reality situations." The aim of this Seminar is to provide training to competence for those who are active in selection of pilots, whether type-rated, initial pilot selection, or cabin crew and are required to comply with the latest EASA requirements. This course is accredited by the European Association for Aviation Psychology (EAAP). EAAP members will receive a 15% discount on the course fee.

At the end of the course, trainees shall demonstrate their ability using profiles in a practical way to move beyond "checking the box" and into utilizing this essential tool in both selection and aviation training.
