About the Program
The Certificate of Management in Aviation Accounting and Finance is a highly intensive, online certificate program which combines the latest accounting, federal acquisition, finance, valuation, and appraisal topics. The program is developed and tailored for aviation and aerospace professionals to enable them to emerge with the skills and tools to anticipate, respond, and adapt to the demands and challenges of an evolving industry. In response to industry needs, Embry-Riddle has designed the certificate and respective courses to be eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Completion of the certificate program requires completion of four Blended Learning aviation accounting and finance courses:

- Federal Acquisition Accounting Issues in Aviation: Sep 9 - Oct 4
- Aviation Asset Valuation and Aircraft Appraisal: Oct 7 - Nov 1
- Contemporary Issues in Aviation Accounting: Nov 4 - Dec 6
The Certificate of Management in Aviation Accounting and Finance is designed to address and provide an understanding of selected accounting and value appraisal topics for those individuals engaged in the finance functions within the aviation industry. The courses in the certificate program will leverage current readings, peer discussions, and presentations from subject matter experts and industry professionals to provide a learning experience with practical applications in the aviation financial workspace. Through these courses, students will explore elements of finance through the lens of the aviation industry. Course participants will be challenged to apply accounting standards and practices to federal acquisition regulations in business systems, maintenance reserves and data sources, lease vs buy decisions for airlines and lessors, and valuation approaches to aviation assets.

Each of the courses offer rich, interactive content created by Embry-Riddle's award-winning instructional design team and were developed by subject matter experts with vast industry experience. Upon successful completion of each course, students will earn a certificate of completion. Upon meeting the requirements of the certificate program, students will earn a framed Certificate of Management in Aviation Accounting and Finance.
Registration Policies
The early bird course fee is $550 per person, the standard course fee is $700 per person, per course. A cancellation charge of $50 will be assessed on any standard cancellations. A late cancellation charge of 25% of the course registration fee will be assessed on cancellations occurring within 14 days of the start of the course. Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Embry-Riddle will award the 4.0 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to each attendee who successfully completes each course.

Course Format
The courses in the certificate program will each be a Blended Learning offering, including both asynchronous and synchronous components comprised of various instructional strategies, such as readings, narrated PowerPoint videos, discussion boards and synchronous online meetings. The best of both worlds ~ an online asynchronous self-paced course with access to a subject matter expert. Program knowledge level is identified as basic, with no required advance preparation or prerequisites. Requirements include a reliable internet connection to access the course and its materials, access to Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet-creation software, and approximately 40 hours of study.
Student performance is assessed by online discussion participation and quizzes. An overall grade of 70% is required to pass each course and earn credit toward the Certificate of Management in Aviation Accounting and Finance. All quizzes provide two attempts. If additional attempts are needed, a request can be submitted to the instructor.
