About the Program

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) is the world leader in aviation education and pilot training and now offers small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS) pilot training to the same professional level as traditional flight training. This certificate program provides commercial multirotor sUAS pilots with a professional foundation of basic and advanced flight skills, regulation and safety knowledge, and data processing expertise needed to excel in today's industry.

Who Should Attend

Pilots who hold a current Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) or country equivalent license, own/have access to a multirotor sUAS, and want to expand their knowledge and abilities to compete successfully in today's environment are encouraged to enroll in this program. Additionally, companies/corporations interested in improving the professionalism and safety of their sUAS programs should enroll their pilots in this certificate.

This certificate includes assignments utilizing the free ERAU Uncrewed Pilot Training simulator (ERUPT), flights utilizing the student's sUAS, and the use of data analysis software such as Pix4D Mapper.

Courses' Specifics

When: Courses are offered every other month beginning in January.
Where:  Online; The courses are instructor-facilitated and taught in an asynchronous format. The courses have a designated start and end date and have required weekly assignments; however, students are not required to log in at any specified time or day during the week. Students interact with the instructors and fellow students through discussion boards, video conferencing, assignments, and email. Students are required to fly course-specific missions at a training area of their choice throughout the courses.
