Course Detail: AIRES - AI Ready Skills: Practicing Responsible AI (6th-8th Grade)

Step into the world of artificial intelligence and technology while exploring the big questions about ethics, responsibility, and fairness! In this interactive camp, middle schoolers will discover what ethics means and why it plays a crucial role in AI and technology. Through hands-on activities, discussions, and real-world case studies, campers will learn to recognize ethical concerns like privacy, responsibility, and bias in AI systems. They'll explore how AI collects and uses personal data, why fairness and inclusivity matter in AI design, and how to make responsible decisions when creating or using technology. By the end of the week, campers will be equipped with the knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to navigate and shape the future of AI responsibly! Students may earn micro-credentials by completing assessments and practicing responsible AI skills. Prerequisite: Intro to AI, Exploring Data and AI, Coding and AI.
