Course Detail: TMICP - The Mic is Yours: Spoken Word Poetry Workshop
Ready to step up to the mic and share your story? The Mic is Yours is an energizing eight-session spoken word workshop where creativity meets confidence. Designed for aspiring poets, performers, and truth-tellers, this course guides participants through the art of writing and performing spoken word poetry with impact. You'll explore rhythm, voice, stage presence, and personal storytelling while building a supportive community of fellow artists. No experience necessary, just bring your words and your willingness to be heard. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to write original poems that reflect personal truths or social themes, apply vocal techniques and body language to enhance performance, deliver their work with confidence and emotional depth, understand the cultural roots and modern expressions of spoken word, and participate in a live performance that connects with and engages an audience.
