Course Description: SUS 299: Sustainable Practices in Art
This course explores the environmental, social and economic impacts of art and design practices, materials and concepts historically and today. Emphasis on artistic practices and topics in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.This is a non-credit Community Education class, taken with credit students. You will not receive college credit.
Students can add on ART 299 with SUS 299 for an additional fee.
Art 299: This course builds on topics from on topics from Sustainability 299. Students must register for both ART 299 and Sustainability 299. In this course, you will develop a unique art project using only sustainable practices in a variety of media. Theme for the project is sustainability advocacy through inspiring thought and/or ethical engagement with implementation of actionable solutions. Project emphasizes individualized personal expression and exploration and will provide opportunity for in-depth concept, research, development and final presentation of long-term project.
