Course Description: Creating a Culture of Psychological Safety

Psychological safety is the shared belief that a team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking. It is one of the most consistently identified predictors of high-performing teams, yet it is often talked about in the abstract without a clear picture of how to actually build it. This workshop grounds the concept in two concrete, actionable domains: the specific leadership behaviors that create safety day to day, and the organizational systems that welcome people in, support their growth, and encourage their participation. In this interactive workshop, participants have a clear understanding about what psychological safety is and why it matters. You will understand and practice the behaviors for creating this environment, and discuss behaviors that destroy safety. Participants will get a clear-eyed look at which of their organization's systems are helping or hurting the culture they're trying to build.
