Using a mixture of lecture and hands-on application, your expert instructor will guide you through the importance of using scale and design before building, foundation basics, the components of a typical wall framing system, framing and truss layout and roof system basics. You'll learn how to safely use construction tools and tricks of the trade for basic construction for homeowners. Great for students who want to learn about home/project-based construction. Tools provided. Students will need to provide their own construction-appropriate gloves.

This course teaches essential personal safety and self-defense strategies designed for real-life situations and geared to all generations. Students will learn how to recognize potential threats, set clear boundaries and apply simple, effective techniques to create space and escape safely. Instruction focuses on prevention, decision-making and movements that do not rely on strength or athletic ability. Through guided practice and realistic scenarios, participants gain practice skills they can use immediately in everyday environments. No prior experience is necessary.

Contractors must take a 16-hour state-approved course to satisfy the educational requirement for Oregon construction contractor licensing. Take this two-day live class to prepare for the state-mandated test (not included) to become a licensed contractor.

This blended-level course is for students with a minimum of two to three years of college-level Spanish or the equivalent. Students should have a working knowledge and familiarity with most tenses. The course readings and discussions will be designed to facilitate the use of the preterite, imperfect and present/past perfect tenses with increased ease and accuracy. Similar attention will be given to the present and past subjunctive. The class will explore social media, short video clips, music and current events in addition to short stories, lyrics and poetry. Group D will be taught using 70%-90% comprehensible Spanish at this level.
June 22-25, 2026, RTEC 136
This blended level course is designed to continue building grammatical structures that focus on speaking, reading, writing and understanding. Topics include a review of the present tense and a comparison of the present and present progressive tenses. Students will review the preterite and imperfect tenses, compare and contrast the preterite and imperfect tenses and be introduced to additional uses in more complex sentences. New vocabulary and grammatical structures will be presented and developed in conversational and written contexts. It will introduce and expand the uses of the present subjunctive tense and formal commands. Vocabulary development and communication strategies will be emphasized. Recommended for those who have a command of the present tense and a working knowledge of the past and future tenses; or one to two years of study at the college level. Group C will be taught using 70%-90% comprehensible Spanish at this level.
June 22-25, 2026, RTEC 138
This blended level course is for students with no previous, or just a brief previous, introduction of Spanish. It is intensive language instruction with an emphasis on developing basic communication skills in Spanish. This course will introduce students to the most frequently-used verbs in Spanish so that students can immediately understand and share important needs and information. Students will learn greetings, expressions of courtesy and other useful beginning vocabulary through introductions, stories and songs. Group A will be taught using 70%-90% comprehensible Spanish at this level.
June 22-25, 2026, RTEC 124
This blended level course is for the most advanced students and will include concepts from levels advanced high and superior to create a robust and challenging course. Students must have a minimum of three years of college level Spanish or the equivalent in Spanish speaking experience. This course will review the contrasts between the preterit and imperfect tenses and the uses of the present subjunctive mood. Additional concepts will include an introduction to the imperfect subjunctive mood and its uses and the conditional tense and its uses. Grammatical structures and vocabulary will be highlighted through literary selections, business terminology and idiomatic expressions, proverbs, synonyms and antonyms. Other topics include: the pronoun "se," complex sentences and new literary vocabulary, recognition of the different accents of the Spanish-speaking world and how to improve one's own Spanish accent. Group E will be taught using 70%-90% comprehensible Spanish at this level.

This blended level course is for students who have been introduced to, and have a working knowledge of the present tense. This course will provide a thorough and extensive review of the present tense only, practice of -AR, -ER & -IR verbs, introduction of stem-changing verbs, Ser & Estar, "Tener + que + infinitive " and "Ir + a + infinitive." It will introduce reflexive verbs and pronouns, and introduction of the imperfect tense. There will be an emphasis on vocabulary development, communication strategies and oral proficiency. Group B will be taught using 70%-90% comprehensible Spanish at this level.

Sewing: Fashion Exploration Youth Camp
Join a fashion workshop this summer for 4 days of fashion exploration! Students will learn how to use a sewing machine and serger, learn about personal style, fashion silhouettes, illustration, textiles and pattern drafting with draping on a mannequin. Students can experiment with many different techniques and tools, or focus on creating their own original design. Each student will work in their own sketchbook that they will take home at the end of camp to continue developing as a portfolio. This fashion workshop provides all the equipment and supplies, and respects each unique student's learning preferences. Ages 10-15.

Mapmaking With Watercolor Youth Camp
Create your own adventure map of Central Oregon! Using beginner-friendly watercolor techniques, students will learn how to layer color and design map elements while learning to highlight trails, mountains, rivers, and favorite outdoor spots. Campers will explore creativity, practice observation skills and build confidence using watercolor and sketching tools. Each student will take home their original and framed illustrated map at the end of camp. Ages 10-15.

In partnership with Think Wild, this one-day camp provides a day of learning about the incredible connections between animals, habitats and people. From beavers, to birds, to wildlife and more, this camp invites curious minds and a sense of adventure. Ages 10-15.

Cyber Defenders: Future-Proofing Your Digital World Youth Camp
Are you ready to go behind the screen and see how the internet really works? This immersive, hands-on camp will transition students from being casual users to digital defenders. In a world where everything is connected, knowing how to secure your data is more than a skill: it's a superpower. In this high-energy week, students will explore the "Golden Trio" of cybersecurity: Defense, Ethics, and Exploration. Through a series of interactive labs and team challenges, students will learn the secrets of cryptography and how to send unreadable messages; setup virtual firewalls and hunt for vulnerabilities; and follow the breadcrumbs of a mock cyber attack to see how digital investigators catch hackers in the act. 
 
Whether you're interested in a high-paying career in tech or just want to ensure your own accounts are unhackable, the Cyber Defenders camp provides the tools and the community to get you started. No prior coding experience is required, just your curiosity and a problem-solving mindset. Ages 12-17.

Explore Oregon through color, texture and imagination! In this creative collage camp, students will use pre-cut papers, patterns and layered shapes to design their own bold landscape inspired by Central Oregon's mountains, forest and skies. Campers will learn how to combine colors, build depth and arrange shapes to create a scene that feels vibrant and full of life. With hands-on guidance and room for personal style, every student will assemble a framed collage to take home. Ages 10-15.
