Doug Purcell
Biography: Doug was born and raised in Eastern Idaho, where he developed a strong work ethic growing up on a hay and grain farm. Following high school, he entered the Electrical Apprenticeship Program at what is now the College of Eastern Idaho (CEI), beginning a career that has spanned electrical construction, renewable energy, utility operations, and code enforcement.After earning his Journeyman Electrician license, Doug worked as an Operations and Maintenance Technician for a wind energy company in the foothills near Idaho Falls. During that time, he received specialized training in Bachmann PLC controls and became certified to work on GE wind turbines. He later joined Idaho Falls Power as a Commercial Energy Specialist, where he administered energy efficiency programs and addressed power quality and power theft issues for commercial and residential customers.Doug eventually returned to the private sector as a Master Electrician and founded his own electrical contracting business, Electrical Installation & Inspection. Today, he serves as an IAEI Master Electrical Inspector for Bonneville County, bringing decades of industry experience and technical expertise to the communities he serves.
