Course Detail: W-IND-WLD-FOF - Fundamentals of Fabrication
Fundamentals of Fabrication teaches students with a welding background how to apply their skills in a fabrication environment. Throughout the course, students learn key fabrication concepts, including the design process, weld distortion control, weld sequencing, and weld finishing techniques. To gain practical experience, students complete two fabrication projects that provide hands-on training and reinforce the skills and concepts covered in class.
Learning Outcomes -
- Essential theories of fabrication
- How the process of welding manipulates the materials
- How to properly finish and detail welds and fabrication projects.
Certification -
Students will receive a Certificate of Completion from the College of Eastern Idaho - Workforce Training. There are no Industry backed certifications attached to this welding course. This course is for Professional Development and Personal Enrichment.

- Career Changers such as Individuals entering the skilled trades with some welding experience or Military veterans with welding backgrounds pursuing civilian fabrication careers.
- Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs that may be expanding into fabrication services or need additional training for employees
