Course Detail: W-LE-AOT-LAW - Idaho Law for Lateral Hires R4 150A

This is a 40-hour course designed for the out-of-state lateral officer or deputy who will be challenging the Idaho POST test. This course will follow the POST Legal Process curriculum, moving through the course objectives to properly prepare the lateral officer/deputy for Idaho Law.The course will cover the following:

  • Using the legal process
  • Burdens of proof
  • The Terry Stop and Frisk (4th Amendment)
  • Miranda Warnings
  • Search and Seizure
  • Laws of arrest
  • Idaho criminal code
  • Idaho court procedures and rules of evidence
  • Writing and affidavit
