Course Detail: PDIL-158 - ILLUSTRATION: PERSPECTIVES
This course is designed to teach students methods for mechanical and freehand perspective drawing. Topics covered are volumetric drawing, equal and unequal spacing in perspective, one point (parallel perspective), two point perspective, three point perspective, inclined perspective, ellipses (as well as the difference between ellipses, circles in perspective and ovals), and tonal values as they relate to atmospheric perspective and the rendering formula of highlight, light, shadow, shadow core, reflected light, and reflected shadow. Also taught are the understanding of light refraction and rendering of cast shadows and the use of hard, intermediate and soft edges to achieve a sense of dimension.

Students who wish to receive financial support from their Michigan school district should follow these steps:
1. Contact your counselor to find out your school district's dual enrollment policies.
2. Ask your guidance counselor to fill out a form or write a letter stating that you are eligible to participate in dual enrollment AND the amount that the district will pay toward the $900 cost of tuition.
3. Email the letter or form from your counselor to pcs@ccsdetroit.edu.
4. You will receive an email with a discount code that will allow you to register for your class and only pay that you are responsible for. The school district will be invoiced directly at a later date for their portion of the tuition.
