Course Detail: AEXP-066 - FIBER ARTS: SASHIKO

Create textiles that are both beautiful and functional. Shashiko is an ancient Japanese mending technique that uses geometric decorative stitches to reinforce fabrics.

Students will learn the basic history of Sashiko mending, the difference between Boro and Sashiko, controlling stitch length and tension, and how to apply the techniques for practical use. Students will complete a sampler over the course of the workshop. Supplies included.

$50 plus $15 material fee

She's passionate about sharing her knowledge and skills, particularly in the art of mending and the creativity that Sashiko stitching offers. Her business is dedicated to helping people love their clothes and care for them for years to come.
